Global Lithuanian Awards | GLA acknowledged and rewards the remarkable achievements of Lithuanian diaspora professionals and their contribution to the economy, science and culture of Lithuania as well as its global standing. The Awards are organised from annually since 2012.

Entrepreneurs, business executives, public policy experts, human rights activists, and alike meet for a sunny summer afternoon in Vilnius to exchange ideas, strengthen connections and build joined efforts. A shared vision of open, competitive, and internationally acclaimed Lithuania is what drives them together. Major GLL annual summer event regularly draws 100+ participants from 15+ countries and Lithuanian public and private sector. See latest events HERE. 

GLL facilitates collaboration and promotes the expansion of the network of the Lithuanian clubs of professionals abroad. Currently, GLL connects 25+ clubs worldwide. The facilitation includes monthly online meetings, record tracking, and annual live meetings, usually held in September in a differents city worldwide. They encourage the establishment of new clubs, tackle the most critical financial and operational sustainability issues, and create opportunities for live networkings.

GLL #BacktoVilnius Networking series has become a nice tradition, and it is popular for a reason – that is the best chance to see old friends from around the world and expand the personal network. With a strong belief in citizen empowerment and benefits of global experiences, GLL established a GLL THINK&DO TANK, a platform for global professionals to connect with the Lithuanian public and private sector and address key topics that shape our ever changing reality. The project was a part of the Active Citizens Fund financed by the EEA Grants 2014-2021.

Major annual winter event of diaspora professionals to exchange ideas, insights, connections, and inspiration. It was held on a day of Global Lithuanian Awards, GLL Forum draws 250+ participants from 20+ countries as well as Lithuanian public and private sector. The event included keynotes and workshops on Talent Attraction, engagement of scientists within the diaspora and other hot topics.

As the pandemic disturbed traditional education processes, GLL along with Lithuanian learning innovation enthusiasts set off to empower technology to reboot the Lithuanian education system. Led by Business for Peace Award laureate GLL Board member Vladas Lašas, a new EdTech Lithuania initiative was kicked-off and shaped during the GLL Gathering 2020: Learning Fever on September 17th, 2020 in the Presidential Palace and online. 

With 200+ mentors in 20+ countries, LT Big Brother was the first and the only global voluntary mentorship programme that aimed to facilitate the transfer of professional knowledge and experience between established Lithuanian professionals and ambitious Lithuanian students.
