We are pleased to announce that Marija Šaraitė joins Global Lithuanian Leaders as the new CEO. Taking the position from Aušra Kukelkaitė, who’s managed the organization for the past 3 years, Marija is a seasoned expert in the NGO sector, already well-known to many GLL members.
“Marija has been working with Global Lithuanian Leaders on key projects on a freelance basis since 2019. Her experience in both not-for-profit and government fields, her project management skills, as well as connections with the industry stakeholders will strengthen the high-impact organization of expat professionals seeking the prosperity of Lithuania and Lithuanians,” says GLL Board Chair Dalia Petkevičienė.
Aside from contributing to the organization and management of numerous GLL events over the years, Marija has over ten years of experience in project management, coordinating various initiatives, and consulting. Marija has also managed the “Baltosios Pirštinės” organization for five years, aiming to increase the transparency of elections in Lithuania.
“Having worked with GLL for quite a while, I always felt that this organization has a great potential to contribute to the development of our country as well as foster relations between global Lithuanian professionals. It’s an honor and a great responsibility to continue leading this organization forward, and I believe my multi-faceted experience will help the network to reach a new level,” says Marija of her new position.
While we’re welcoming Marija on board, we’re also extremely thankful to Aušra, who has led Global Lithuanian Leaders to new territories. Her leadership and dedication helped foster an even stronger network of Lithuanian diaspora clubs all over the world, ensured proper representation of diaspora professionals in public life, and further strengthened GLL as an organization.
