
“This event is a great example of collaboration between the Economic Attaché, Embassy and the local club of professionals for engaging Lithuanian diaspora into the development of Lithuania. I hope it serves as inspiration for embassies and clubs in other countries too,” – said Aušra Kukelkaitė, head of “Global Lithuanian Leaders” network. This time the Forum focused on the topic of sustainable development and aimed to share best practices in both countries in order to strengthen collaboration in the field.
“When talking about innovative sectors, it is very important to have a platform for the exchange of new ideas and imagining the future of Lithuania in the context of those global innovations. This Forum proves Lithuanian professionals in Germany are ready to contribute,” – said Giedrius Jokūbauskis, First Secretary at the Lithuanian embassy.
The event gathered 21 speakers from Lithuanian and Germany with expertise in Sustainable Development for 3 panel discussions:
> Green Cities
> Food Waste
> Green Energy.
Panelists gave their forecasts for the future of sustainable development, its influence to the position of Lithuania in the global arena. Key takeaways from the discussions are being prepared and will be published shortly.
The Forum culminated with the announcement of the first Award Laureate – GLL Patron Dr. Kęstutis Bagdonavičius. He was acknowledged for his work in strengthening the ties between Lithuanian and German companies, active participation in chambers of commerce both in Germany and the Baltic states, and contributions to creating networks of Lithuanian professionals globally. Kęstutis was awarded a handmade sculpture by the artist Domilė Ragauskaitė.
