On  February 11, 2013 GLL member Rūta Laukien, C.W. Downer & Co director (Boston) gave a lecture at the ISM Business and Management University on investment banking and career in other financial and corporate law areas. She also reflected her experience of being a mentor at LT Big Brother programme.

Previously on her short come back in Lithuania Rūta met with several Lithuanian start-ups and gave some tips for their development at the office of „Enterprise Lithuania“.

Biography

Rūta Jurevičiūtė Laukien has more than 12 years of investment-banking experience, including a strong background in M&A, debt capital markets and equity capital raises. She spent seven years as a Vice President at Bear Stearns, where she was part of the M&A, healthcare and financial sponsors groups and had primary coverage responsibility for 13 private equity and hedge funds. Currently Mrs. Laukien is a Director at C.W. Downer, an international middle-market investment bank, where she focuses on the healthcare industry, including biotechnology and life sciences, and cross-border transactions. Mrs. Laukien holds BA degrees in Economics and Psychology from the University of North Florida, an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business as well as a JD and Masters in International Law from Duke University Law School.  She is admitted to practice law in New York State.
Rūta Jurevičiūtė Laukien has contributed to the organization of Life Sciences Baltics 2012 forum – the largest industry event in the Baltic States, where she was a mentor in the start-up programme.
