Nordic-Baltic expats working in finance & banking, legal, telecommunications, IT, creative and other fields as well as businesses interested in Nordic – Baltic European economic development gathered in the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania on 2 October 2012.

A crowd of Sweden based global Lithuanians, their work colleagues, representatives of the companies interested in investing to Lithuania participated at the „GLL Forum on Nordic-Baltic Economies“.

The event was opened by warm welcome by Mr. Eitvydas Bajarūnas, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Sweden.
It also gave a great introduction to the panel discussion on the different scenarios of Baltic-Nordic cooperation and possibilities for investment attraction, exports, innovation development and other areas.

The  Panel “Future of Nordic – Baltic Economies” , moderated by Tadas Langaitis, GLL Board Member, was accompanied by Rimantas Žylius, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania, Mantas Zalatorius, Executive Officer Lithuania at Swedish Trade Council, Aušra Matusevičienė, Head of Baltic Operations & IT at SEB, Kęstutis Sasnauskas, Partner, CEO East Capital Private Equity, Giedrius Dusevičius, Head of Swedbank Group Products.

A large focus of the debate was devoted to the moving of shared service centers of large regional corporations to the Baltic.

The event was ended with a presentation “Enhancing global opportunities for Lithuanian economy by linking talented diaspora worldwide” by Dalia Venslovaitė – Petkevičienė, Board Chair at GLL.

The event was organized in partnership with Lithuanian Business expats in Stockholm, Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Sweden, Enterprise Lithuania and Invest Lithuania.
