GLL along with Clubs of Professionals calls the Government to engage diaspora talents for the development of Lithuania

2021-02-03

During the Lithuanian Parliament Elections of 2020, the Global Lithuanian Constituency was the largest and the most active one. As a result, the Lithuanian diaspora is more represented now than ever before in the Lithuanian Seimas. The GLL Forum | Lithuania and its Diaspora on January 21, 2021, discussed the benefits and preferred outcomes of such representation and how to keep the Lithuanian Diaspora as active as it was during the pandemic year.

The fruitful discussion included concrete solutions on keeping the diaspora involved in the decision-making processes and how the state institutions could actively benefit from the talent that is living abroad.

Following the discussion, GLL, along with Clubs of Professionals and numerous members of a wider network, accumulated and presented the Government with an extensive plan and ideas for more effective diaspora inclusion in the Economic and Public sector fields. We are now looking forward to discussing it in person with Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė and the Cabinet.
