On July 14 to 17, 2015, the Lithuanian World Community (Pasaulio lietuvių bendruomenė or PLB), the widest network of Lithuanian communities abroad, held its regular Seimas with intention to review the Community’s strategy, to update their position on key issues (e-elections and dual citizenship among them) and to elect the Chairman and the Council of the organization. The occasion gathered together 150 delegates from 33 countries. The positions on the Council including the top one attracted numerous candidates from around the world and heated the discussions. Now, GLL would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the new PLB Chairman Dalia Henke from Germany, and to celebrate the acknowledgement of GLL members as experts of Finance – Eglė Garrick from Australia and experts of Economy – Angelė Kavak from the USA. GLL are looking forward to cooperation with other newly elected and reelected members of the PLB Council: Rolandas Žalnierius from Latvia responsible for Special Projects and Legal Issues, Jūratė Caspersen from Switzerland responsble for Culture, Arūnas Teišerskis from Ireland responsible for Education, Dalia Shilas from the USA responsible for Public Relations, Gediminas Karoblis from Norway responsible for the PLB Expansion.
